Kiloutou rolls out its range dedicated to railway maintenance across France

FranceStrategy and Finance Kiloutou rolls out its range dedicated to railway maintenance across France

On the occasion of the 2025 edition of SIFER – Salon International du Ferroviaire, held at Lille Grand Palais from 24 to 26 June 2025, Kiloutou, Europe’s third-largest construction equipment rental company, announces the national rollout of its range of tools for railway maintenance.

A proven innovation

Following an initial trial phase conducted since March 2024 in the Centre-Val de Loire, Hauts-de-France and Île-de-France regions, the rollout on a national scale confirms the relevance of the leasing model for the rail sector.

As the first rental company to roll out a range specifically designed for railway maintenance professionals, Kiloutou is responding to growing market demand by offering an economically advantageous and environmentally responsible alternative to purchasing. By freeing companies from storage, transport and maintenance constraints, renting offers greater flexibility and optimised value of use: the right equipment, for the right job, in the right place.

“The rollout of our rail offering is an integral part of our business diversification project. Initial trials conducted last year were successful and confirmed the market potential. With the support of key partners, including SNCF, we aim to actively contribute to track renovation work by offering a service tailored to the specific requirements of these projects, which are characterised by long distances and operations that take place during the day, at night and at weekends.”

Pierre Knoché, Managing Director France

A diversification strategy in response to growth challenges

This rollout across all departments marks a decisive new stage in Kiloutou Group’s development strategy. Aware of the challenges facing the construction sector, the group has made a strategic decision to diversify its activities by strengthening its position as a multi-specialist rental company.

‘Kiloutou’s business is no longer just about renting equipment. We are broadening our approach to become a performance partner, working closely with our customers to provide tailor-made solutions for a wide range of projects, from traditional construction and civil engineering to sporting events and railways.’

Olivier Colleau, CEO of Kiloutou Group

This diversification is structured around several promising areas: major civil engineering projects, the energy sector, industry and services, and the rapidly expanding events industry. Rail completes this range of activities, enabling the Group to target high value-added niche markets with the aim of doubling its revenue by 2030.

A comprehensive and responsible offering

The Kiloutou railway range consists of around ten specialised items of equipment, selected from two recognised suppliers: Geismar and Cembre. All equipment is approved and/or authorised by the SNCF and meets the strict requirements of the railway sector.

Two pieces of equipment also come from the iMPAKT range, Kiloutou’s low-carbon range, demonstrating the Group’s commitment to making the construction equipment industry more sustainable.

Kiloutou at the heart of the SIFER 2025 trade fair

This first participation in France’s only international trade fair dedicated to railways is part of the Group’s commitment to establishing a long-term presence in this sector.
