Kiloutou Group in 2012, sustained and controlled development
In a context of crisis that is impacting the entire construction industry, the Kiloutou Group grew more than the French rental market in 2012. This resulted in a turnover of €460 million (+45% vs 2011) achieved through 414 branches (+44% vs 2011) thanks to 3,300 employees (+11% vs 2011). Today, the Kiloutou Group ranks 4th in the European rental market.
These excellent results are the result of a sustained and controlled development dynamic which, in 2012, saw an increase in organic growth (13 new branches), the continuation of major acquisitions through Starlift and Urbaparc and the consolidation of acquisitions made in 2011 (BMLoc and Top’Loc), thereby strengthening its positions in the Civil Engineering and Access equipment rental market.
At the same time, to support its development, the Kiloutou Group invested nearly 100 million euros in equipment in 2012. The company thus offers its highly diversified professional clientele the widest range of equipment on the market (850 references – 220,000 items of equipment in various fields).
The Kiloutou Group’s development policy, which has enabled it to triple its turnover in 10 years, has been rewarded by the European Rental Association. In June 2012, this association awarded it the trophy for the best rental company of the year, in recognition of the significant strategic, economic and technological development that the company has demonstrated.
New ambitions supported by strong convictions
Convinced that the rental business is still in a phase of transformation and that its market will continue to strengthen around solid leaders, the Kiloutou Group will continue its development with the ambition of moving from a position of equipment rental to that of a complete partner for its customers.
This ambition is based on a clearly expressed commitment: to give value to rental.
To achieve this, the Kiloutou Group intends, on the one hand, to rely on the keys to its success: the strength of its branch network and the teammates who work daily to ensure the success of their clients by giving them access to the necessary equipment in the best possible conditions. On the other hand, the Kiloutou Group wishes to create value by concentrating its actions around the Group’s three strengths:
- Innovation and safety, thanks to the involvement of its Lesquin Test Center for the selection of tested and qualified equipment;
- Service with a complete range of CACES and regulatory training courses;
- Commitment to sustainable development, particularly through the production and provision of a carbon footprint for each piece of equipment rented.
The Kiloutou Group in 2020: an integrated multi-specialist group
With a solid shareholder base giving it the capacity to resist and control debt, the Kiloutou Group has the resources to match its ambitions. This has resulted in constant investment in equipment, enabling the company to maintain a young, high quality fleet. Major acquisitions made in recent years have also enabled it to strengthen its position in high-capacity markets (Civil Engineering, access, etc.).
In this context, the Kiloutou Group’s vision for 2020, defined by Xavier du Boÿs, its Chairman and CEO, outlines the lines of an integrated multi-specialist group.
Aimed at all customers, the Kiloutou Group will be able to offer solutions adapted to the needs of each one thanks to :
- A network of different branches under the same name (generalists, specialised in access, civil engineering, etc.);
- The offer of specific and pointed expertise;
- The synergy of the Group’s services and best practices.
In the medium term, the Kiloutou network will be made up of around 500 branches, distributed as follows:
- Kiloutou (generalist): 300 – 350 branches
- Kiloutou CE: 80 – 100 branches
- Kiloutou Access: 50 – 80 branches
- Kiloutou Event: 8 – 10 branches
While maintaining a decentralised organisation that gives full confidence to the people who contribute daily to the success of their customers, the Kiloutou Group will allow its customers to benefit from multi-channel access to all its expertise thanks to all the services developed over the last few years: the market place available on the Internet and its Extranet extension, UnikCall, site visits, training, etc.
