Kiloutou creates a private sales site for its second-hand equipment

GroupCSR and sustainable development Kiloutou creates a private sales site for its second-hand equipment

Intended for international professional traders (brokers), the KILOUTOU online sales platform allows it to organise calls for tender for its second-hand equipment from French and European agencies. A dozen private sales will be organised each year, each of them representing a volume of almost 400 items of equipment.

A new experience for brokers

In 2016, KILOUTOU reorganised its system for selling its end-of-life equipment through a dedicated service: Kiloutou Second-Hand Equipment.

Its principle is to create second-hand equipment lots in different families (forklift trucks, generators, telescopic forklifts, diggers, etc.) before organising calls for tender among brokers contacted directly by KILOUTOU.

Today, KILOUTOU is developing the buyer experience, offering an online sales platform for second-hand equipment. Designed as a private sales site, the platform is open to a limited number of international professional buyers, approved by KILOUTOU after consulting their registration form.

The site will offer a dozen calls for tender each year. In 2020, the next private sales will be held on 18 September, 16 October and 13 November.

Appraised equipment

Each call for tender groups together different items of equipment belonging to all families, apart from small tools. To support professional buyers in their decision making in complete transparency, each item of equipment has a comprehensive information data sheet, indicating in particular: the brand, model, general condition, in-service date, mileage and engine hour meter, along with different photos.

Accessible in French and English, each sale presents a selection of almost 400 items of equipment that can be filtered according to different criteria: the type of equipment, its brand, general condition, location and in-service date.

Second-hand equipment brokers have the possibility of making a bid on each of the items of equipment for sale. The lowest responsible bidder wins the sale of the equipment.

Initiated in France over four years ago, the Kiloutou Second-Hand Equipment service had to keep step with the Kiloutou Group’s international development. In this context, our digitisation policy now allows us to open up the sale of all our second-hand equipment found in our European agencies more broadly via an unprecedented tool for private sales perfectly tailored to the expectations of specialist brokers.”
