Kiloutou completes its iMPAKT range with 60 100% electric tipper trucks compatible with Low Emission Zones.

FranceCSR and sustainable development Kiloutou completes its iMPAKT range with 60 100% electric tipper trucks compatible with Low Emission Zones.

Kiloutou is pursuing its energy transition policy by stepping up its investment in low-carbon worksite equipment. The Group ended 2023 with the launch of a new offer incorporating its iMPAKT range of responsible equipment. 60 100% electric tipper trucks have been delivered to Kiloutou branches throughout France. The tippers are already available for hire.

Kiloutou’s commitment to reducing its carbon emissions and those of its customers

Committed to developing more virtuous methods of energy consumption and operation, Kiloutou is committed to reducing its indirect carbon emissions, which currently represent 93.5% of its total carbon footprint. To address this figure on a long-term basis, Kiloutou is creating the iMPAKT range in 2021 and reinforcing it today with a new range of electric tipper trucks.

The acquisition of a fleet of 60 100% electric tipper trucks also demonstrates the Group’s desire to support its customers in the decarbonisation of worksites with severe environmental constraints and, more generally, to provide solutions to the new regulations in the construction and public works sector and local authorities in terms of ecology – in particular, the development of LEZs (low emission zones) in large urban areas.

Features that combine practicality and energy savings

Kiloutou’s 3.5 T electric tipper is an everyday ally for a wide range of customers. With a payload of 937 kg, an unladen range of 252 km and a 184 hp engine – silent and 100% electric – this new Ford tipper is perfectly suited to transporting tools, goods and other heavy materials in all kinds of environments. Its low CO2 and particulate emissions also make it suitable for use in low-emission zones (ZFE) and city centres.

The recharging time for the tipper may vary depending on the charging point to which the 75 kWh battery is connected:

  • On an alternating current terminal, the truck accepts a maximum power of 11kW for a full charge completed in 8 hours.
  • On a direct current terminal with a maximum power of 115 kW, the battery is charged in 34 minutes.

What’s more, Kiloutou’s electric tipper has more power than conventional internal combustion models.

Within our equipment fleet, tippers emit the most CO2. This observation has led us to rethink the composition of our fleets in order to provide our customers with more environmentally-friendly transport solutions. We are also aware of the positive impact that the use of electric equipment can have in populated areas. Road transport (including cars and HGVs) is responsible for 54% of nitrogen oxide emissions. The use of electric tippers makes a significant contribution to reducing emissions of fine particles and other atmospheric pollutants, as well as reducing the numerous noise nuisances reported by local residents.
