L’Auxiliaire and Kiloutou announce their partnership to accelerate the decarbonisation of the construction sector

FranceCSR and sustainable development L’Auxiliaire and Kiloutou announce their partnership to accelerate the decarbonisation of the construction sector

From the first quarter of 2024, Kiloutou’s iMPAKT range of carbon-free equipment will be available to L’Auxiliaire* members at preferential rates throughout the year. This commercial offer will be complemented by educational initiatives designed to accelerate the adoption of the decarbonisation of worksites by companies and craftsmen in the sector.

For 2 years now, Kiloutou, France’s 2nd largest site equipment rental company, and L’Auxiliaire, a specialist construction insurer, have been working together to raise awareness of the major issues facing the building and public works sector.

This work has led to an initial partnership dedicated to preventing and combating musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), giving L’Auxiliaire members preferential access to innovative solutions from the company’s KARE range. While the two companies share a common commitment to decarbonising construction sites, they are now initiating a new partnership designed to accelerate this approach within the industry.

To encourage the sector’s transition to a sustainable model, L’Auxiliaire and Kiloutou are leveraging their knowledge of the issues in the field to bridge the gap in terms of awareness, information and access to low-carbon equipment between large companies and SMEs and craftsmen in the sector. This new partnership offers an unprecedented scheme designed to enable as many companies as possible to try out alternative-powered machinery and equipment.

From the 1st quarter of 2024 and for the whole year, Kiloutou will be offering L’Auxiliaire members an exclusive commercial offer to discover its iMPAKT range, which includes low-carbon equipment using electric or hybrid energy. For members who are already Kiloutou customers, the offer allows them to hire equipment from the iMPAKT range for one week, at the price of its combustion equivalent. For members who are not Kiloutou customers, the offer allows them to test the iMPAKT equipment of their choice free of charge for one day.

In addition to this commercial offer, there are two complementary ways of raising awareness of the challenges of decarbonising worksites. In mid-May, certain members of L’Auxiliaire will have the opportunity to receive support in carrying out a carbon assessment, drawing up a climate strategy and identifying the risks associated with environmental changes, as part of a training course given by WeCount experts, in collaboration with the BTP Rhône et Métropole professional federation, with input from experts from L’Auxiliaire and Kiloutou.

In September, participants in this programme will be invited to Kiloutou branches to discover and test all the equipment in the iMPAKT range, including the latest innovations.

Kiloutou is pursuing the dual objective of reducing its own direct emissions, as well as those of its customers’ worksites, via the equipment we hire out. The purpose of our renewed partnership with L’Auxiliaire is to ensure that all our customers – without exception – whatever their size or speciality, have a good level of information about the challenges of decarbonisation and the solutions we offer to support them.

Pascal Maume, Regional Director Kiloutou Grand-Rhône

As an insurer specialising in the building and civil engineering sector, we have a responsibility to take on board the major changes transforming the industry, with the low-carbon transition and sustainability issues in construction at the forefront. After launching Breez in 2022, the first insurance offer specifically designed to cover zero-emission machinery and equipment, we want to continue to encourage the adoption of this type of equipment by our policyholders and by a growing number of companies. We believe in removing barriers to use through experimentation, and that’s the philosophy behind our partnership and this joint action.
