On Thursday 7 September 2023, Enedis, Kiloutou and BDTP will join forces in the Communauté de Communes du Grand Pontarlier to limit their environmental impact by carrying out a low-carbon worksite.
This low greenhouse gas emission worksite, which applies the principles of the circular economy, has several objectives:
- Improve the environmental impact of urban worksites
- Better measure this impact
- To contribute to the climate effort and to the quality of life in the city.
The equipment and machinery used are supplied by Kiloutou. They reflect the shared desire of Enedis and its partners to decarbonise their activities and uses in order to reduce their carbon footprint.
About the project
This project, being carried out by the contractor BDTP on behalf of Enedis, involves renewing the low-voltage cables to guarantee a quality electricity supply and ensure the development of new uses in the area, in particular the use of renewable energies and the connection of charging points for electric vehicles.
The Kiloutou Group is providing two pieces of earthmoving equipment for this work:
- A 2.8 T electric mini-excavator (CO2 savings: 136.8 kg)
- An 800 L electric articulated loader (CO2 savings: 201.30 kg)
They both reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 94% compared with their internal combustion equivalent. They are part of the iMPAKT range, which includes more than 3,500 electric, hybrid and dual-energy machines designed to help professionals reduce the carbon footprint of their worksites.
These vehicles also offer other advantages, such as reduced emissions of fine particles and lower noise levels, which contribute to the acceptance of the worksite by local residents. They also reduce vibrations for their users, thereby reducing the risk of musculo-skeletal disorders, fatigue and arduous work.
Trucks meeting Euro VI standards are also being used on the site.
A shared commitment to the ecological transition
BDTP SARL Terrassement, Enedis’ partner in the field
BDTP SARL Terrassement is a family business that has been in operation for over 30 years. It favours local management and short decision-making circuits. Since it was founded, the company has been active in the field of recycling: storage and recycling of concrete and asphalt, lime recycling of certain excavated materials, reuse of good quality excavated materials on site, sorting of wood, steel and plastic at the depot.
The company is also equipped to reduce CO2 emissions, with the purchase of a tyred excavator to replace a tracked excavator and a loader, and specific equipment to ensure that equipment is transferred only once.
It is also promoting green energy: installation of solar panels on the site bungalows and purchase of electroportable equipment.
Enedis, Manager of the Public Electricity Distribution Network and Project Owner
Enedis is a public service company that manages the electricity distribution network and employs 38,000 people. Serving 37 million customers, it develops, operates and modernises 1.4 million kilometres of low- and high-voltage electricity network (230/400 and 20,000 volts) and manages the associated data.
Enedis connects customers, carries out repairs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, reads meters and carries out all technical interventions. It operates on behalf of local authorities, owns the networks and is independent of energy suppliers, who are responsible for selling and managing the electricity supply contract.
