Kiloutou, a major player in equipment rental in France and Europe, organised its third Transport Cup, a nationwide event that illustrates the company’s commitment to promoting essential professions under pressure and boosting local employment in the 13 regions where the company operates.

A national challenge with local benefits

Faced with the challenge of a shortage of candidates in the transport sector, Kiloutou is rolling out an innovative strategy that combines the promotion of expertise, team cohesion and regional attractiveness. Throughout the year, the company organises various challenges and events for its drivers, of which the Transport Cup is a perfect example: last March, 14 teams representing the regions where Kiloutou operates competed simultaneously at four sites across France in regional competitions combining driving, load securing techniques and safety skills. Four teams were selected to compete in a final held on 14 May 2025 at the Kiloutou site in Barberey-Saint-Sulpice.

An ambitious recruitment plan for 2025

Beyond the competitive aspect, the event highlights the economic dynamism that Kiloutou has brought to French regions. The group plans to recruit 150 drivers nationwide by 2025.

“These positions are part of our national recruitment plan, with more than 1,000 positions to be filled in France by 2025. In a context where the transport sector is facing a chronic shortage of talent, we are committed to promoting a profession that is essential to Kiloutou’s business and its customers. This event is eagerly awaited by our drivers, who are incredibly enthusiastic. It is also an opportunity to promote our company’s local footprint.”

Pierre Knoché, Managing Director Kiloutou France

Revaluing essential but overlooked professions

Transport is an essential part of Kiloutou’s business, enabling equipment to be delivered to construction sites on time. With 600 drivers in France, including 150 in light vehicles, drivers are key ambassadors for the company in its dealings with customers.

‘Our drivers have a multifaceted job, with driving accounting for only a third of their working time. They are also technicians, advisors and logisticians. The Transport Cup is an opportunity to highlight these multiple skills and create a sense of pride in belonging to a sector traditionally characterised by high staff turnover,’ continues Pierre Knoché.

A concrete commitment to making careers attractive

To address loyalty issues, Kiloutou has developed several specific initiatives:

  • Organisation of the biennial Transport Cup
  • Promotion of the technical skills of transport professions and the expertise of drivers
  • A good work-life balance with no work on Saturdays.

Through the Transport Cup, Kiloutou demonstrates that it is possible to transform HR chellanges into opportunities for regional development. The company thus confirms its role as a responsible economic player, actively contributing to the vitality of French regions while meeting the growing needs of its customers.
