FranceHuman resources Kiloutou announces the recruitment of 1,000 new staff to support its development

To support its continued development in a very dynamic market, Kiloutou, a major plant hire player in France, has announced that it is speeding up its recruitment programme. Using an innovative approach, the company plans to recruit 1,000 new employees in 2022.

The 1,000 future members of Kiloutou’s team, who will be invited to discover the jobs on offer and to apply using the recruitment section at kiloutourecrute.com, will reinforce the company’s workforce, which already numbers 6,000 people in France and Europe. They will contribute to the development of the Group, which currently has a network of 550 branches in five countries.

These teammates will be recruited on permanent full-time contracts for jobs in three [four?] major areas of the business:

  • Sales (technical-commercial contract managers, advisers and representatives, branch managers, etc.),
  • Technical (preparers, specialised technicians, workshop managers, etc.)
  • Transport (HGV drivers)
  • Support functions

This acceleration of recruitment forms part of a wider programme that will continue in 2023, with an innovative approach aimed at recruiting talented new people to be the future experts in these jobs, who contribute to the sustainable transition of the construction and public works industry.

An innovative approach to recruitment

In the conduct of this recruitment, the company is particularly keen to establish a relationship with candidates that is of mutual transparency and benefit. For this purpose, Kiloutou has developed an innovative recruitment process which will enable rapid contact with the recruiter and hands-on discovery of the trade in days or half-days spent with the staff.

  • A 10-minute Flash interview with a recruiter, that candidates can request via the recruitment platform: the aim of this discussion is to highlight the motivation and personality of the candidate and not his or her CV.
  • A discovery day with the team and the branch: this recruitment device enables candidates to find out about the jobs, environment, conditions and working atmosphere in “real conditions”, and thus to see if they wish to put themselves forward; it also allows the future manager to observe candidates’ level of curiosity, interaction and motivation, and therefore provides a perfect opportunity to make a decision by offering everyone maximum transparency and openness.

In addition, both content and tools have been developed to promote discussions between candidates and team members in advance of and during the recruitment process. These can be accessed on the Careers page of the company’s website:

  • Job videos and testimonials from “Kiloutiens” sharing the authentic Kiloutou experience on a daily basis.
  • A Job corner, where all the Group’s job offers can be found, and providing practical advice to help with the job search (e.g. how to approach your interview).
  • A dedicated page for schools and for the students who may be among the 300 trainees or students from CAP (professional aptitude certificate) to Bac+5 that the Group welcomes and trains every year.

Initiating and cultivating entrepreneurial spirit

Following their recruitment, new Kiloutou team members benefit from a personalised induction process of between 4 and 8 weeks. From day one, regardless of their business area (sales, technical, transport, etc.), they have access to a digital platform with content that combines skills development and corporate culture.

From the CEO’s words of welcome to the various e-learning modules, not to mention reference documents such as organisational charts – the platform offers new team members the information they need to familiarise themselves with the spirit of the company, in a novel way. Every team member also benefits from weekly updates from his or her manager, and from regular, personalised training courses throughout his or her career.

In this way, Kiloutou cultivates a taste for a challenge and for performance that enables team members to climb the corporate ladder through its dynamic internal incentive and promotion policy. Its values have been recognised by Happy Candidates certification (awarded for its global recruitment and candidate support process) and, for the ninth consecutive year, by the Top Employer label (which distinguishes the best employers worldwide, applying the highest standards of excellence in terms of working conditions).
